1963 First Haircut
One year old Chris Johnson of Summerville celebrated his birthday with his first haircut, administered by the Rev. A.N. White.
A black and white, cropped version of this photograph appeared in the
Trion Facts
on April 17, 1963.
Grandfather G.W. Johnson of Blue Pond, Alabama, accompanied his grandson and helped him into the booster seat.
Little Chris Johnson managed to snatch all the pens and pencils out of his barber's shirt pocket.
With a year's worth of baby curls gone, but no tears shed, the child, the grandfather, and the barber could all breathe a sigh of relief.
According to the
Trion Facts
, Chris' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Johnson, were both employed by Riegel.
